The Evening Academy is designed to help students achieve their goal to graduate by taking the courses needed to meet graduation requirements. Johnston County students may enroll in credit recovery online courses if they have fallen behind due to failing grades, attendance issues, and/or other reasons deemed appropriate by the building principal. Students may receive academic support at the Evening Academy as well.
The Johnston County Evening Academy is located on the campuses of all traditional public high schools for two hours directly after school Monday through Thursday. Students will enroll through the school counselor at their high school and will be required to complete an application for admission into the program and be approved by the school counselor and building principal. Students may enroll in 1 or 2 courses at a time, depending on his/her academic needs. Each site will be staffed by a licensed high school teacher. Students will be expected to provide their own transportation and follow all behavior expectations of the Evening Academy. School Contacts:
