Military Families

Clayton High School is located within driving distance of Fort Liberty (Army) and Seymour Johnson Air Force Bases.  Both of these facilities have administrative, MWR, Commissary, and Exchange services for active military families. On this page, you will find a current list of programs and services for our military families, including current enrollment guidelines.

Enrolling your Child:

The information provided on this page will be useful as you register your children for grades K-12.    

Please contact our registrar, Mrs. Bridget Bucklin, to schedule an enrollment appointment: 919-553-4064 Extension 1562 or bridgetbucklin@johnston.k12.nc.us.

If an enrollment appointment at CHS is necessary, bring the following documentation:

  1. Transcript from previous school (final 8th grade report card for first-time freshman).

  2. Proof of residency in the Clayton High School district.
    Acceptable forms include:  proof of home ownership, signed lease agreement, most recent utility bill (gas, water, electric, trash, Internet), or mortgage statement. These documents must be dated within the last 30 days.

  3. Proof of age (birth certificate, hospital certificate, etc.)

  4. Immunization records
    Must be signed/stamped from a doctor/clinic/health department and must be presented within the first 30 days of enrollment.  If not, the student will not be permitted to attend school until the required immunization is obtained.

  5. NC Health Assessment Transmittal Form
    Required only if student has never been enrolled in a NC public school.  Must be completed within first 30 days of enrollment.

  6. Photo ID of parent/guardian

  7. Proof of legal custody, if student is being enrolled by someone other than parent listed on birth certificate.  This must be an official court document signed by a judge. An appropriate form must be picked up at the school and signed.
