Testing
Students in Johnston County schools have the opportunity to show growth throughout the year via a variety of tests. We believe that students are not defined by one single test. Students in grades 3-5 demonstrate their learning in the fall and spring through an adaptive test, called MAP. Additionally, at the end of the year, students in grades 3-5 demonstrate their grade-level learning by taking the End-of-Grade (EOG) test through the NC Department of Public Instruction (NC DPI)
We also progress-monitor students' reading skills through Amplify's mClass tests. This is completed throughout Kindergarten-3rd grade to ensure all students are reading at or above a 3rd grade reading level by the end of third grade.
