My Role: As the Executive Director of Instructional Technology, I have the privilege of supporting JCPS students and staff by promoting the effective use of technology to enhance student learning. My role encompasses ensuring teachers have access to reliable, high-quality digital tools, troubleshooting complex technical challenges, and offering flexible professional development options to enrich educators' daily practices. Driven by a commitment to service and excellence, I focus on aligning our efforts with the district's strategic plan to support our shared goals for student achievement.
My Why: It is my mission to break down barriers and personalize learning experiences, igniting a passion for discovery in both educators and students. By bridging traditional education with innovative technology, I am committed to cultivating critical thinking, creativity, and real-world problem-solving skills, equipping our learners to thrive as future leaders and engaged global citizens.

David Hinrichs
Education: B.A. in Geography • University of California, Santa Barbara | Teaching Credential in Multiple Subjects • California State University, Northridge | M.A.ed. in Educational Leadership • American College of Education
My Role: As the Director of Digital Learning Platforms and Pedagogy, my role is to support teachers so that they can better support their students. I help provide professional development workshops and individual coaching to support district school improvement goals and individual school or teacher needs.
My Why: Early in my teaching career, I began saving the notes and cards that students and parents would write to me when they felt I had made an impact. Whenever things are tough or I need motivation, I reach into the box that contains those notes and cards, pull a few out, and read them. It’s easy to know my why each time I read the grateful words of someone who has appreciated my assistance.

Kaye Menjivar
Education: Master of Library Science (MLS) • East Carolina University | B.A. English • East Carolina University
My Role: As the Instructional Technology and Media Specialist, I have the opportunity to serve and support school librarians throughout JCPS in their work of helping students develop a love for reading as well as important information literacy and digital learning skills that are so needed in their world today. In addition to supporting the professional growth and practice of our district's librarians, I work to advocate for practices that strengthen our schools' media programs. I also support librarians, teachers, and specialists in their use of instructional technology, connecting them with powerful digital tools for learning while helping them grow their confidence in using them effectively to garner positive student learning outcomes.
My Why: Providing space and time for all students to feel seen and safe to explore, create, challenge, collaborate, and pursue their passions ignites a love for lifelong learning. This is the best gift we can give our students.
