Cindi Pettigrew is an experienced, dynamic, and passionate educator. During a thirty-five year career as an educator, she has spent the past twenty years at North Johnston Middle School, where she began as an Exceptional Children’s teacher before serving as the Media Coordinator.
As Media Coordinator, she collaborates with staff members and students to create a learning environment that is engaging and conducive to learning. Most recently, she collaborated with our seventh grade social studies teachers and conducted classroom lessons during the Anne Frank exhibit. Also, Mrs. Pettigrew led our NJMS Battle of the Books team to a first place finish in the district and regional competition before advancing to the State Battle of the Books competition this month.
She can be seen on Tuesday afternoons of each week serving as a teacher in our after-school Jaguar Academy program to assist students in reading. She also makes sure to include relevant and engaging displays monthly in the media center.
As an active member of the School Improvement Team for many years, she provides positive feedback and seeks to be a problem solver and solution seeker. She serves in other roles in the school and completes numerous tasks behind the scenes to assist administration, staff, and students.
