Board Meeting Highlights:
Organization of the Board:
Mrs. Lyn Andrews was appointed Chairperson and Mr. Terry Tippet was appointed Vice Chairperson. The appointment is Andrews’ second consecutive term as Chairperson. The appointment of Vice Chairperson is Mr. Tippett’s second consecutive term in this role.
Living Legends Awards:
The Board recognized Mrs. Ethel Armwood, Mrs. Ruth High, and Mr. Bruce Bunn as 2023-2024 Living Legends Award recipients. The recipients have served nearly 100 combined years as educators in Johnston County Public Schools. These individuals' names and photos will be hung inside the Living Legends Room of the Evander S. Simpson Building located at 2320 US 70 Business Highway East in Smithfield. Please see the associated press release here.
