Mrs. Loan Such was named the JCPS Classified Employee of the Month for January 2025!
Since 1995, Mrs. Such has been an invaluable asset to the school district and community. As a teacher assistant at River Dell Elementary, she begins each day by driving a bus, ensuring students get to school safely. Once at the school, she is constantly helping her 4 first-grade classrooms and throughout the school as needed.
She and her husband have 3 children, all of whom live in North Carolina.
We asked Mrs. Such about her nearly 30-year career with JCPS and her love for children.
How does being named Classified Employee of the Month make you feel?
I’m so honored to be chosen as the January 2025 Classified Employee of the Month.
How does your job affect the children’s overall school experience?
I love being involved with children in my daily routine, from driving the bus to being a teacher assistant.
Why is it important to build relationships with students and staff? How do you do that?
It's important to build relationships with the staff, and I do that by helping teachers in an effort to make their jobs easier. For the children, I build relationships with them by letting them know that they can come to me with questions. It is a big reward to me to have those relationships with the students and the staff.
Why is collaboration and teamwork with the school’s administration, staff, and co-workers?
Collaboration and teamwork is crucial in providing our students with a high-quality education. We always accomplish more and are better as a team.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The best thing about my job is see the academic growth in children that I have helped.
What would you say to those thinking about joining the JCPS team?
To anyone thinking of joining the JCPS team, I would say that if you love to make a difference in a child's life, this is a place!
