The second cohort of the 2023-2024 Student Leaders group engaged in immensely meaningful conversations this morning with Superintendent Dr. Eric Bracy.
Their perspectives on school related topics, such as security and safety, curriculum and instruction, social interaction, and more, was extremely productive and thought provoking.

Corinth-Holders Elementary teacher Evan Lemons has received WRAL's Teacher of the Week Award!
The segment featuring Lemons will air Wednesday, Jan. 24, on Fox 50 during the 8 AM newscast, and also at 12 PM on WRAL. He will also be featured on the WRAL Saturday morning show, Jan. 27.

Oh what a night! The 1974 South Johnston High Women's 4A State Championship Team was celebrated for the 50th anniversary of their win on Friday!
The team reunited for a special commemoration honoring their remarkable win, and at halftime of the girls' basketball game Friday night, each player and their coach was recognized and received a special plaque.
The Lady Trojans ended their season not only with a state title that year, but ended the season with a 28-1 record.
Congratulations to the team!🏀🏆

Ozzy Blais received a January Character Education Award for Self Discipline!
A fifth grader at River Dell Elementary, he has shown tremendous growth and success in his time at River Dell. This is due to his work ethic and perseverance. He is a humble student, never asking for recognition. Blais never wants anyone to feel left out. He just wants to be his best, and to help others in their quest to be their best as well.

Krystle Corbett is our January Classified Employee of the Month!
An instructional assistant at Corinth-Holders Elementary, Corbett is a dependable and wonderful employee, and is always there to help when needed. She is great with children and works so well with them, showing them love and compassion.

Preston James is next up for our January Character Education Awards! A senior at Corinth Holders High, James was recognized for Self Discipline. He is an active Key Club and Mu Alpha Theta member and a Math tutor for the school's Evening Academy. James is a hard worker, never giving up, even if the situation is complicated. He sets goals and works hard to achieve each of them. Keep up the good work!👏 #GreatThingsAreHappeningInJCPS
