Eighty-four middle school “mathletes” added excitement and friendly rivalry to the equation during this year’s district MATHCOUNTS competition.

Avery Scott of Princeton Middle took first place in the individual category, followed by Rece Willingham of Cleveland Middle with second, Benjamin Krakowsky of Cleveland Middle with third, and Joan Chavez of Meadow with fourth.

In the team event, Cleveland Middle earned first place, Princeton Middle came in second, and Innovation Academy rounded out the top three.

In the Countdown Round, the top medalists were Avery Scott of Princeton Middle with first place, Benjamin Krakowsky of Cleveland Middle with second, and Luke Spears from Swift Creek Middle with third, and who also answered the most questions correctly.

Huge congratulations to all of this year's MATHCOUNTS participants!
