Clayton High School Senior, Deondre Johnson, was selected by the NC Department of Public Instruction Presidential Scholars Nomination Committee to move forward as a state nominee in the next round of the US Presidential Scholars Program. Deondre represents the best of North Carolina’s students based on his outstanding scholarship qualities.
He will now go through the application process at the national level and the Commission on Presidential Scholars will notify Semifinalists in mid-April.
Deondre is a member of the Clayton High School AVID program, the CHS Wrestling Team, and is the President of the Bridge Club. He plans to attend a 4-year university in the fall to study Special Education.
