The Johnston County Heritage Commission is set to host a Black History Quiz Bowl at the Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield on Thursday, February 22, at 6:30 pm. The event promises an engaging evening as teams comprised of community leaders compete in a battle of knowledge, answering questions about significant African American personalities and events.

The quiz bowl will encompass historical aspects at local, state, and national levels, offering participants and attendees a chance to delve into the rich tapestry of African American history. The event will be held at the Public Library located at 305 East Market Street, Smithfield, NC, 27577.

In 2023, he earned the title of "Best Supporting Actor" for his performance in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.

Adding a musical touch to the evening, singer Marvin Rawls, Jr., will be featured in the program, ensuring a blend of knowledge and entertainment for all attendees.

This enriching event is open to the public, and admission is free. Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the program, creating an opportunity for community members to socialize and engage in meaningful conversations.
