Did you all know what happened last week? CTLA’s end-of-October Spirit Week was full of excitement and great participation from all CTLA students. But of course, let's get into the amazing days that took place last week for Spirit Week.
Day One: Sports Jersey Day
On Day 1, we celebrated Sports Jersey Day. Already into the day, we saw many teams representing all major sports groups like baseball, soccer, and football. The participation was exceptional today, with students from all grades enthusiastically joining in on Sports Jersey Day. It has been fantastic to see everyone expressing their team loyalty, whether they were wearing the gear of professional sports teams. This strong turnout set a positive tone for the rest of Spirit Week, showcasing the school's vibrant community spirit!
Day Two: Pathway Day
Doctors, lawyers, and construction workers were all represented on Pathway Day, where we could see all of CTLA’s students showing what their future career paths might be. Many people wore scrubs, suits, and button-ups, trying to support our school’s Spirit Week and the pathways they represent. Very businesslike, very mindful, and very demure.
Day Three: Pink Day
As you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and as you can assume, every student wore pink to show support for the cause. The hallways were filled with vibrant shades of pink, creating a heartwarming atmosphere as the entire school came together to raise awareness for such an important issue. According to student Layla Duhaney, "Pink day was my favorite day of spirit week because I was able to go all out!"
Day Four: Costume Day
All Hallows' Eve is the best day to dress up and look either cool or scary, and sometimes both. Every student dressed in their fabulous costumes, with most characters coming from films and TV, some from video games and literature. Overall, there was a lot of fun and participation; even I was an assassin from Assassin's Creed.
Day Five: Pajama Day!
Every student's favorite day to dress comfortably without regret is Pajama Day! So many people wore spooky pajamas, some with adorable onesies, and even teachers joined in the fun by sporting their cozy attire. The school was filled with laughter and camaraderie as students lounged in soft fabrics, sharing stories about their favorite sleepwear, all while battling the temptation to doze off in class, wrapped in the cozy comfort of their favorite pajamas.
Spirit Week was a super success, and according to freshman Anya Murray, “I love the participation; it was great, and I had a really fun time.” After that week, we are excited to see what happens in the Spirit Weeks to come, and we would like to thank Mrs. Jones and her Student Government for giving us this fun and spooky week to help rally us up for Halloween.
