McGee's Crossroads Middle School FFA members recently traveled to the 2024 North Carolina FFA Middle Grades Rally held at NC A&T State University in Greensboro. We were proud of each student participating in leadership workshops and competitive events.

Our Exploring Biotechnology Quiz Bowl team placed third IN THE STATE! The team consisted of Harris Bagley, Olivia Duchesne, Zoey Raffensberger and Wyatt White. They made it to the final round answering questions about FFA traditions, the science of genetics, and use of living organisms to improve products and processes for humans.

Grayson Shirah, Camden Dunn and Madison Smith took part in the Exploring Biotechnology Skills event . In this contest, FFA members are tested on their knowledge of biotechnology tools, processes and practices. They had to identify various biotechnology tools and complete a written test.

Levi Barbour also competed in the Prepared Public Speaking Event. He did a great job researching, composing, and reciting his speech on How to Care for Angus Cattle to a panel of judges.

FFA members Dillon Hill, Kenlee McElveen, Nolan Hopp, Riley Nordan, Abi Murillo, Blake Williams & Isabelle Penny participated in leadership workshops led by the State FFA Officers along with others from across North Carolina.
