Each year students compete to represent Smithfield Middle School in the Johnston County Schools Spelling Bee. Before choosing the school representative, grade level teams compete and send two students per grade level to choose who goes to the district competition. Eighth Grade/Year 3: Fabiola Cruz and Drew Webster
Drew Webster was the Smithfield Middle School representative at the Johnston County Schools Spelling Bee for the third year in a row. This year, Drew placed 6th place in district.
