Congratulations to our February - March 2024 SeMS Employee of the Month winners!
Usha Subramaniam teaches 8th grades science. In the five years that she has worked at Selma Middle, she has been inspired and feels that she has been very productive in building relationships among staff and students, and in helping students reach their academic goals. In her words, "it is an honor to work with our dedicated and exceptional faculty. My goal is to help students realize their potential to become effective learners. In my 25 years of service as a teacher at JOCO, I have learned the importance of optimism, hard work and accountability. I strive daily to help my students realize the impact of accountability and hard work in their lives."
This is Elly Weke Okumu 2nd year at Selma Middle School and in the United States. He currently teaches 6th Grade Science, Social Studies, and Math. When asked why he enjoys working for SeMS, he stated, "the Selma Middle School community has offered me a feeling of "home far away from my country". It has provided an opportunity for me to experience a diverse culture which is smoothly knit in its own uniqueness. The friendliness in the air at Selma, the team work, the focus, the intentionality that reign high, and not forgetting the "zeal and zest" exhibited by all the faculty members and the admin team. Indeed the academic journey at Selma Middle is to the uttermost!"
