Currently, she serves as the AVID Coordinator and Teacher. Fluent in Spanish, she serves as a dedicated member of the Multi-Language Professional Learning Team. Mrs. Valle states, "I try to help in any way that I can, and the students are appreciative. Helping them succeed and overcome life's obstacles is my goal no matter what position I serve in. One day, they will be taking care of us (older but wiser folks)."
Usha Subramaniam teaches 8th grades science. In the five years that she has worked at Selma Middle, she has been inspired and feels that she has been very productive in building relationships among staff and students, and in helping students reach their academic goals. In her words, "it is an honor to work with our dedicated and exceptional faculty. My goal is to help students realize their potential to become effective learners. In my 25 years of service as a teacher at JOCO, I have learned the importance of optimism, hard work, and accountability. I strive daily to help my students realize the impact of accountability and hard work in their lives."
Our school community spotlights and appreciates Elizabeth Valle and Usha Subramaniam. We are glad they choose to #BeSelmaStrong for students and staff daily!
Well done and thank you for your hard work!
