West Clayton Elementary School

JCPS communities came together in an extraordinary way for our neighbors in Western North Carolina! 🌟 Donations from our schools for the Hurricane Helene Relief filled three dump trailers, three 3 box trucks, two pickup trucks, and two vans! This outpouring of kindness, compassion, and generosity is what our school system is built upon. We thank everyone involved in this effort! We continue to keep everyone affected by this devastating event in our hearts! ❤

Thousands of supplies. Hundreds of donors. One common goal…helping those in their time of need. ❤ Today our Facility Services team gathered supplies from our schools, which were Hurricane Helene Relief donation sites. In a few hours, these supplies will be transported to Western North Carolina. Thank you to the many, many students, parents, and staff who have responded promptly and compassionately. Also, a special thanks to Johnston County Government and the Johnston County Sheriff's Office for allowing us to partner with you in this effort. 🤝

Today started our Bulldog Run Fundraising Campaign. Please scan the QR code on your student's sticker or information packet to register your student. This weekend the PTA is challenging students to get registered and start sharing the site. Academic growth is very important to JCPS! 📚 The district is proud to announce that 89% of the schools received a letter grade of A, B, or C, an increase of 24% from 2018! Likewise, 85% of the schools in the district met or exceeded growth, a 56% increase from 2018! JCPS is truly moving forward! 🌟 #GreatThingsAreHappeningInJCPS

Did you know... JCPS is 1 of 12 districts to exceed pre-pandemic achievement? Not only that, six of our amazing schools exited low performing status. All student subgroups are above pre-pandemic achievement, and JCPS is closing the achievement gaps. #GreatThingsAreHappeningInJCPS

The next data highlight from the 2023-2024 school year data report is phenomenal! Twenty-three of our schools earned their way into the top 20% of the state for growth. This accomplishment is just one example of students, teachers, and parents working together to propel our district up! #GreatThingsAreHappeningInJCPS

Voters will have the opportunity on November 5, 2024, to vote for a bond that could provide $120 million to JCPS and continue to improve the quality of education we offer our community. It is imperative that all of our leadership and school stakeholders understand the projects that will be funded by this referendum.
