JCPS will host a Choice Programs Information Night on Thursday, January 16, at Smithfield-Selma High, 6 PM to 8 PM.
Attendees will be provided 15 minute information sessions about the various programs offered to 8th graders and a Q&A session.
Students are able to apply for the programs now! The application window for students wanting to attend High School Choice Programs will end on February 15, 2025.

Over the break, staff at Thanksgiving Elementary and Riverwood Elementary participated in Stop the Bleed training provided by Kristi Blankenship, Trauma Program Manager of WakeMed Cary Hospital.
Stop the Bleed is a national initiative that helps teach the public how to use three basic techniques to stop bleeding during potential life-threatening emergencies. This type of training is important because blood loss is the #1 cause of preventable death following an injury and learning the three simple techniques involved can help save a life. During the training, participants participated in a brief lecture portion to be taught the use of direct pressure, packing, and applying tourniquets to stop bleeding. They were then able to engage in a demonstration of the three techniques taught.
We are extremely grateful for community volunteers who help us continue to improve the safety and performance of our students and staff.
For more information on Stop the Bleed, you can visit www.stopthebleed.org.

INCLEMENT WEATHER NOTIFICATION!!!
Due to the forecast of inclement weather, all JCPS schools and campuses will be dismissed three hours early on Friday, January 10, 2025.
Early College Academy and CTLA will be closed to students and staff for the entire day on Friday, January 10, 2025.
Stay warm and stay safe!

‼❄INCLEMENT WEATHER NOTIFICATION❄‼
Based on the current weather forecast, Johnston County Public Schools will continue normal operations on Friday, January 10, 2025, HOWEVER, all after-school and weekend events will be canceled due to the forecast.
This decision has been made out of an abundance of caution, per the guidance of local and state emergency service officials.
It is our district’s goal to make our school communities as prepared as possible for emergency situations, including inclement weather. We understand that this decision will inconvenience many after-school and weekend events, however, safety is our primary concern.

‼❄️ Due to inclement weather, JCPS will operate on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
All students and staff are encouraged to drive safely and execute good judgment while traveling.
Be safe everyone!

Welcome 2025!🥳
We wish all a year full of promise, opportunity, and love!✨
