For students following the traditional school calendar, Wednesday, December 20, 2023 is an early release day. Then students will be out of school from Thursday, December 21, 2023 - Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Students return to school on Wednesday, January 2, 2024.
Good evening Meadow Families. I hope all of you have had a safe weekend. We have just a couple of announcements for the week. On Tuesday our basketball teams play at North Johnston MS. Our 6th grade students have a field trip on Monday. Wednesday is an Early Release Day. Students are dismissed at 1:20.
I will provide a welcome back/New Years message on Tuesday Jan.2, 2024. Students will report back to school on Wednesday Jan. 3, 2024. We wish you all a wonderful break and Merry Christmas.

ELF Shelf will be available this week for students to shop for gifts. This is sponsored by our PTO and a portion of the proceeds goes into their budget. On Monday our Basketball teams play at home against Selma. Tuesday we have a Band concert beginning at 6:00 in the gym. Thursday our Basketball teams play at Benson. Friday our First graders have a Field Trip.

JCPS will host a Choice Programs Information Night on Tuesday, December 12, at Smithfield-Selma High, 6 PM to 8 PM.
Attendees will be provided 15 minute information sessions about the various programs offered to 8th graders and a Q&A session.
Students are able to apply for the programs now! The application window for students wanting to attend High School Choice Programs will end on February 21, 2024.

We have several announcements for this week.Our Basketball teams play at Smithfield Monday Dec. 4 and at Four Oaks Thursday Dec. 7. Our Student Government will volunteer at the Food Pantry on Wednesday Dec. 6. Progress reports for students will go home Thursday Dec. 7. On Friday our Math Counts team will compete at JCC.
We appreciate all the support from our community and families. Thank you to the Meadow Womens Club for the Tree Lighting that took place yesterday.

Good evening Meadow Families. I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving Holiday break. We have several announcements for this week. First, our Student Government is hosting a canned food drive to donate to local food banks. They will be collecting donations the remainder of the week. Second, our Basketball teams have games Tuesday at home against Princeton and Thursday at home against Neuse Charter. For basketball games, all guests will have to pass through the weapons detection system. Last, our 2nd grade students have a field trip Friday Dec. 1 to Howell Theater in Smithfield.

The basketball teams begin their season with scrimmages at Cleveland High School on Tuesday. Girls start at 4:15 and boys at 5:30. Finally, Tuesday is the last day of school for this week. Our campus will be closed Wednesday through the weekend to celebrate the Thanksgiving Holiday. The Meadow staff wishes all families a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday.

Good evening Meadow Families. I hope everyone has had a great weekend. We would like to thank all the Veterans and anyone currently serving our Country for their dedicated service to our Nation.
For this week we have just a few announcements. Our Basketball teams have started practice. Their games will not begin for a couple weeks. On Wednesday Nov. 15, we have make-up pictures from earlier in the year. If your student did get a chance to be photographed, we encourage them to participate as these will be used for our yearbook. If you need an order form, please let your child teacher know and we will get information for you.
This is the last week our PTO will be selling raffle tickets. The drawing will be Friday at Meadow School Please help support the PTO by selling and/or purchasing tickets. All proceeds are used to support teachers and students throughout the year. Please check the PTO’s Facebook page for information on how you can volunteer and support Meadow School.

Good evening Meadow families. This is Clint Eaves, Principal of Meadow School. I hope everyone has enjoyed your weekend.
We have a few announcements for this week. Report cards will go home with students Monday. Please check your child folder or ask them about their report card. If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher. Our PTO has started their annual raffle. Your child should have brought home information about tickets. Please return any collections to your child's teacher. They will make sure it is returned to the PTO. The Officers will count tickets and funds daily. If you need extra tickets, please let the teacher or front office know.
Basketball tryouts begin this week. Athletes should have a current physical and concussion form completed prior to trying out. The boys will practice first, 3:30-5:00 and the girls will practice second 5:00-6:30. Girls are able to stay after school with Mrs. Beasley and/or Coach Jernnigan. Please have rides at 5:00 for boys and 6:30 for girls.
Thursday Nov. 9 at 5:00 will be our quarterly PTO meeting. From 5:30-7 we will host our K-5 Parent engagement night.
Finally, Meadow School will be closed to students and staff on Friday Nov. 10 for the Veterans Day Holiday.

It's Halloween, and we want to make sure everyone has fun, while staying safe . Check out these tips!👻
Good evening Meadow Families. I hope you are doing well this evening. We have just a few announcements for this week. First, tomorrow- Monday is a Teacher’s Workday. School is closed to students. We will resume normal classes on Tuesday Oct. 31. This is a reminder for our kindergarten families about the Field trip for Tuesday. Please check the weather since this is an outdoor field trip. Next, our PTO will be sending home raffle tickets with students beginning Tuesday. Please return any sales to your child's teacher. The PTO will collect and count daily. There are prizes for the top sellers in K-5 and in 6-8. Information will come home with the students as well. Our 8th grade students have a Career Exploration field trip to JCC on Thursday. This will be outside as well and we encourage them to pay attention to the weather and wear comfortable shoes for walking. Last, basketball tryouts for middle school students begins Monday Nov. 6. All athletes should have a current physical and concussion form on file with the coach prior to trying out.

Good evening Meadow Families. I hope you are doing well this evening. Monday is our final athletic event for the fall. Our Soccer and Volleyball teams play at home against NJMS. Come out and support our student athletes.
On Wednesday, representatives from the IDEAL Academy at SJHS will visit our 8th grade students. We have a couple of student parent nights this week. Our 6th and 7th grade teachers will have a greet and meet with families and an activity-movie and popcorn beginning at 5:30 on Thursday Oct. 26. On Friday Oct. 27, our 8th grade teachers will have a meet and greet then an activity-kickball beginning at 5:30. We encourage all parents and students to attend.
For our K-5 families, we will have our Parent Involvement on Nov. 9. The Meadow PTO will have meeting on Nov. 9 at 5:00. We encourage all families to attend the PTO meeting to find out how you can get involved and how our fundraising efforts are going.
Last, this is Red Ribbon Week. This is a focus on making Healthy Decisions and saying no to alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. Please see our website for resources. To help emphasize thi at school, we will have daily announcements and dress up days
Monday is Sock it to Drugs-wear mismatched socks, Tuesday is Put a Cap on Drugs-wear your favorite hat, Wednesday is Team up against drugs-wear your favorite team attire, Thursday is Be Kind to your Mind-wear RED or a kindness shirt, and Friday is Save the Day from drugs-wear a Superhero representation.
