Here's another construction project update... The second floor slab went down earlier this week at Cleveland High School. The Cleveland High project is moving along nicely and is on track to be completed in June 2025! #GreatThingsAreHappeningInJCPS

12/12/24 Student Council : Congrats to Mrs. Orilio's 1st block, They brought in the most donations for the animal shelter and won Bojangles biscuits. Thank you to everyone who brought in supplies.

12/11/24 Coach McIver: Congratulations to the wrestling team for starting conference duals with a win defeating Clayton 48-21 Coach White: The Varsity Women's basketball team suffered a tough 56-41 loss at Athens Drive last night. The Rams were led by 18 points from Lia Dunn, and 8pts from Love Toney. We are back on the court Friday night at West Johnston. Coach Parker : Congratulations to the JV Girls basketball Team for their 41-7 victory over Athens Drive yesterday. The Lady Rams were lead by Haleigh McFarland with 12 points, Lindsay Daughtrey with 8 points and Paris Leysath with 7 points. The JV Rams will be back in action on Friday at West. Ms. Barnhart: You may have seen collection containers in various teachers classrooms for pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Please save those and turn them in to any collection container throughout the school year.

12/10/24 Ms. Brown : This week is the last week to reserve your spot to audition for the spring musical, Grease! Stop by Mr. Millers room to sign-up and grab an audition packet. Auditions are this Saturday 12/14 in the CvHS Auditorium .

12/10/24 Mrs. Slomiany : Mrs. Slomiany is proud to present the Annual Clams Conference started by our very own Ms. Cloughlery. Teachers please bring your classes to walk through this student led presentation about marine science conservation. 12/9/24 FFA : FFA will be having an after school meeting this thursday at 5:30. Join us in your christmas PJ's for a christmas movie and gingerbread houses. Don't forget to bring a lawn chair!

12/9/24 S. Miller: Join us tonight for our winter chorus concert featuring the chorus of CvHS. The concert is free and the CvHS fine arts boosters will be selling concessions during intermission.

12/6/24 Ms. Massengill: DECA attended regionals on Thursday. Congratulations to Brent Games and Mac Stanley on receiving top exam score. Mac Stanley, AJ Venturella, Leah Gilbert, Nathan Hammonds, Cole Abrev and Kyleigh Hamilton were all proficient in their subject area. Congratulations!!

12/5/24 Coach Dudash: The Flag Football team defeated Clayton yesterday 37-14 in round 3 of the state playoffs. The game featured a shutout first half by the Rams defense and an incredible display of offense led by quarterback Izzy Scholar. In round 4 the Rams fell to Ashley High School- finishing out their inaugural season of flag football as a Top 8 team in the state and #1 in Johnston County. Great job ladies!! Ms. Barnhart: All CCP students received an email yesterday concerning verification of the Spring 2025 courses that you registered for. Action is required. Be sure to read your email.

12/4/24 Coach White: The Varsity Women's basketball team lost last night at home against Wakefield. The Rams were led by 14 points from Lia Dann and 8 points-11 rebounds from Martina Paz-Aquino. We are back on the court next Tuesday, on the road for the first time this season at Athens Drive.

12/3/24 Coach Moore: Baseball work-outs today and tomorrow 2:30-4:00. Remember to dress warm. Ms. White : JoCo Teen Drivers have a meeting today during Ramped up B. Please sign up for Ms. White Ramped up B. FFA will be having an in school meeting December 5th during Ramped up A. We will be making Christmas ornaments with Christmas music and cookies. Coach Capps: There will be an interest meeting for Women's Soccer on Thursday during Ramped Up B. Anyone interested in playing should sign up for Mr. Paul Smith's Room 216 on Thursday for Ramped up B. Seniors! Male sure you check your email about an exciting FAFSA event. Follow the instructions for your chance to win a pair of Air Pods Max. DECA is hosting a toy drive. You can bring any new unwrapped toy to the front office or room 237. The age groups for the toys are newborn to teen. All toys are due by noon on December 11th. Ms. Pearce : The Executive Student Council is hosting an animal shelter supply drive to support local animal shelters in the area, through December 10th, drop off items in your first block for the chance of winning Bojangles for your class. The class with the most items donated gets biscuits!

11/26/24 RAM Academy is canceled for today. We look forward to resuming tutoring on Monday, December the 2nd. Coach Dudash: The women's flag football team beat Rolesville last night 32-31 in the state's first ever flag football state playoff. A total team effort, the game highlights came in the final 5 minutes with two 4th down stops by Blakely Wallace and Savannah Brooks, two passing touchdowns by Izzy Sholar, a receiving touch down by Avery Morgan, and receiving touch down by Kendall Gaunt in addition to 2 interceptions, The Rams next play Clayton in round 3 of the play Clayton in round 3 of the playoffs, next Wednesday, December 4th.

11/22/24 Coach White: The Varsity Women's basketball team lost a tough hard fought game last night in overtime against Knightdale 48-54. The Rams were led by 19pts from Nevaeh Cannon, 11 pts from Lia Dunn & a 11 point -14 Rebound Double-double from Izzy Sholar. The Rams are back at home Tuesday night against Smithfield-Selma.

11/21/24 Student Council: The week of December 2nd-6th is our Winter Spirit week. Monday, December 2nd is Grinch Day get "mean and green" with your outfit. Tuesday, December 3rd is Ugly sweater day. Wednesday, December 4th is Dress as your favorite holiday movie or song. Thursday, December 5th Anything but, a winter holiday. Friday, December 6th Dress in your favorite holiday PJ's. Ms. Beasley& Ms. Blackman: Congratulations to the HOSA Club on attending Regional Competitions in Greenville, NC on Tuesday, November, 19th! All students did an amazing job in their divisions and representing Cleveland. Congratulations to the following students who placed: Vicky Zeng= 3rd place- Medical Math. 11/20/24 Coach White: The Cleveland Women's Basketball Team picked up a win in their 1st game of the year/ 55-17 over South Johnston. The Rams were led by 20points from Lia Dunn +16 points from Nevaeh Cannon. They are back on the court tomorrow night at home against Knightdale. Lets be Sure to Pack the gym! Mr. Capps: Congratulations to the Cleveland FFA Tool Identification, Creed Speaking an Extemporaneous Public Speaking teams who competed yesterday. The Tool ID team placed 1st and will be moving on to state convention Team members are Ayden Capps, Meredith Collins, Palmer Hodges, Sunni Johnson, Wells Sholar and Matthew Truelove. Ayden and Sunni both received a perfect score. Ayden Capps also placed 2nd in the Creed competition and will be moving onto regional competition. Preston Sharp placed 4th in Extemporaneous public speaking. Congratulations to them all!

11/18/24 Coach McIver/Wrestling: Congratulations to Ibrahim Larag and Addison Vindigni for placing 1st . Keyara Torres and Abby Brewer for placing 2nd. Julianna Vindigni and Anthony Heron for placing 3rd this weekend at the Wolverine Challenge! Mr. Miller: Homeroom Advisory Teachers: Chorus students will be delivering a form to you during 1st or 2nd block. Once your group completes the survey, each advisory will be entered into a drawing for a Pizza Party and Each teacher will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gas card. Ms. Pearce: Caswell applications are due by 2:30 Tuesday to Pearce in 226. Late applications will automatically be wait listed. Ms. Barnhart: Juniors will have a class meeting in the auditorium on Wednesday at 8:30. You will be called down from 2nd block. Bring the PreAct score report that you receive in Advisory today. DECA will be hosting a toy drive for the holidays. All toys donated can be dropped off in the main office, room 203 or 237. Attention all BSU members! This is a reminder to check your school emails for a message from your club secretary about sign-ups to bring supplies for the BSU Thanksgiving party! 7/15/24 Mr. Rainville: Congratulations to the 42 of our band students that auditioned and were selected for Johnston County Public Schools High School All County honor band last night!! Cleveland High School once again, had the most representation in the band of any high school in the county! We are so proud of all of our band students and congratulations to those that were selected for the all county band last night!! You make us proud !

The Curriculum, Instruction, and Accountability ELA Team would like to recognize Ms. Patty Sharp as the November 2024 ELA Super Star Teacher of the Month. Ms. Sharp is an English 1 teacher at Cleveland High . Ms. Sharp is doing great things in her classroom and for our students to ensure that they are getting what they need to be successful at their current level and those to come. We certainly appreciate what she is doing in Johnston County Public Schools! Congratulations Ms. Sharp!!!
