4/19 Announcements: HOSA is hosting a blood drive @ Cleveland Proud Day tomorrow! Please get on the school's website and sign up to give the gift of life! If you are 16 or 17and need a consent form, come to room 218 which is Mrs. Beasley. Eat a healthy supper tonight, good breakfast in the morning with plenty of fluids! It is time to announce our Prom Court for this year. For prom queen, you will be able to vote for Graciela Emperardor, Jamesha Jordan, Rosa Hernandez or Abbie Sudbury. For prom king you will be able to vote for Talan Brown, Johnathan Echols, Jeremiah Cash or Lexdiel Martinez.
4/18 Announcements : Don't forget to wear your purple tomorrow for the Month of the Military child if you aren't wearing your Special Olympics shirt. Are you a 9th or 10th grade student who passed last quarter with a B or higher in all four of your classes? If so, you are eligible for next week's Field Day during Ramped Up. Celebrate your successful 3rd quarter with inflatables, snow cones,games and more next Thursday, April 25th. Eligible students will be notified through their email. The Lady Rams Soccer Team picked up a 3-0 win over Garner last night. Goals were scored by Jenna Messer and Madi McGonagle. Their next game is Friday @ Southeast Raleigh! Seniors don't forget to pick up a permission slip for the field trip to Carowinds. You can get a permission slip from Ms Johnston room 306, Ms Pearce room 226 or Ms Daughtry room 611. The JV softball team picked up a 12 to 0 victory over Clayton @ home yesterday, Emma Colton pitched the shut out for the Lady Rams. The Varsity softball team picked up an 11to 1 victory over Clayton yesterday. Lani Pennica was the winning pitcher. Sadie Johnston led the Lady Rams with 3 hits. The Varsity team will play Fuquay@ home Friday night @ 7pm.
4/17 Announcements: The JV baseball team beat Willow Spring yesterday 4-3! Thad Parker knocked in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the 6th to take the lead. The rams got great pitching from Drake Lee, Zach Miller, and Gavin Jackson. The Rams [play again on Friday@ 4:30@ Willow Spring.
A special thank you to Representatives Donna White and Howard Penny for visiting Johnston County Public Schools and taking part in the inaugural "Bring Your Legislator to School" day! Cleveland High was bustling with energy and many students and staff members were excited to engage in very meaningful conversations.
2024 JCPS Flame for Learning Teacher of the Year Melissa Pearce, who is a teacher at Cleveland High, coordinated the great event, bridging the gap between legislative leadership and JCPS students.

4/16 Announcements: The Theatre programs performance of MAMMA MIA! is this weekend! Do not forget to grab your ticket. The show is Thursday 4/18, Friday4/19,and Saturday 4/20. Doors open@6:30pm for the show@ 7pm. Wayman Britt, former Cleveland student,went on to play in the NBA and was drafted into the NFL. He's also a successful author. He is going to be a guest speaker in the media center today during B and C lunches. Please sign up for Ms. Pearce in the Media center for Ramped Up today. The JV baseball team beat Wake County Homeschool yesterday 11-5. Noah Price had two hits, including a double and triple and drove in 5 runs. Thad Parker also had 2 hits and drove in 3 runs. Tanner Murphy was the winning pitcher, and the Rams also got great pitching from Nolan Asay and Gavin Jackson. The JV team is at home today versus Willow Spring. First pitch is @ 4:00.
Congratulations to the Library Club for winning the annual " Debate team v/s Library Club" debate for the 2nd year in a row. Way to go! Join us this Saturday for Cleveland Proud Day. We have a car and bike show, blood drive, vendors, and club games. Watch our choral showcase and special performance by Miss Cleveland (Gracie Sorrell). The fun starts at 10 this Saturday at Cleveland High.
JCPS is looking for Reading Buddy volunteers to help our students this summer! We need parents, grandparents, community members, and high school students to join our Summer Reading Camp participants during morning arrival.
Volunteers will listen to and encourage students as they develop their reading skills. No experience is required, but you will need to register and be a volunteer with JCPS before you begin.

4/11 Announcements: The last day to turn in outside guest forms for prom is this FRIDAY. The form is submitted online only. The online link can be found in the slideshow on the school website and your email. The form cuts off at 2:30pm tomorrow. Prom tickets are now on sale. Only junior and seniors may purchase tickets. All ticket info can be found in the slideshow on the school website and in your email. The last day for any ticket purchase is Tuesday , April 23rd.This summer, JCPSS is offering a free program to provide the opportunity to gain valuable work based learning experience through the District C Teamship. Students who complete the teamship will recieve a $500 stipened. If interested see Ms. Clifton room 203 or Mrs. Blackmon room 219. The deadline to sign up is May 12th.
4/10 Announcements: Attention all BSV students. BSV will not meet today. Please adjust your Ramped Up Schedule this morning. Also, please remember to bring candy to Ms. Myers room for Cleveland Proud Day. Candy is due by next Wed,April 17. Thanks! Seniors will have a class meeting in the auditorium Thursday@ 8:45 am, you will be called out of 2nd block. If you do not have a 2nd block, report to the auditorium after 1st block. Cleveland will host multiple colleges on our campus over the next few weeks. UNC Wilmington, UNC Chapel Hill, and Fayetteville State University will hold information sessions during Ramped Up for 9th,10th, and 11th grade students. Sighn up at :bit.ly/cvhsevents. All juniors and seniors on April 24th the week of prom, our JOCO Teen Drivers will be hosting a mock car crash to promote safe driving. All juniors and seniors are expected to attend. 4/9 Announcements: 8 students competed in the State HOSA Competition in Greensboro, NC from April 3-6. Congratulations to Anushreya KC for earning and being awarded 3rd place in Medical Reading. Congratulations to Lauren St. Amour for being in the top 10 in Prepared Speaking and Congratulations to Jayla Kearney for being in the top 10 in Extemporaneous Writing. We are proud of all who went, competed, sacrificed your Spring Break, and represented Cleveland High School with Professionalism! Cleveland FFA is having their sixth annual Ag Fest this Saturday April 13 from 10-3. There will be tons of local vendors, kids games, plant sales, animals, and food trucks. We hope to see some of you there! The Cleveland Varsity baseball team won the 2024 Johnston County Easter Invitational over Spring break. The Rams beat South Johnston 5-3, North Johnston 12-1 , and Midway 7-4. Brooks Moore, Jack Dalton, Justin Flaherty and Caleb Lynn were named to the all- tournament team. Zalin Ingram won Defensive MVP, and Will Hicks was named MVP with 4 home runs! JV and Varsity are at home today vs Corinth Holders ( JV @ 4 ).

Congratulations to the FFA Ag Sales teams who competed yesterday. The senior team of Megan Plaster, Erin Knittell , Preston Sharp and Susannah Piatek placed 2nd in the state. The junior team of Aubree Smith, Holand Tyler, Gavin Bledsoe and Timothy Escador placed 1st in the state. Gavin was the highest scoring individual in the state. CONGRATULATIONS! Earlier this month Governor Roy Cooper officially proclaimed March 2024 as Arts in Our Schools Month. We celebrate, advocate and educate and educate about the impact of the Arts in Education. March is also nationally recognized as Music In Our Schools Month. Please stop by and Thank an Arts Education Teacher. 3/25 Announcements: We are not holding RAM Academy on Thursday. We will resume RAM Academy on Tuesday, April 10th. 3/21 Announcements: The lady Rams soccer teams both beat South Garner last night. T he JV team won8-0 and varsity won 7-2. The lady Rams play Clayton @home on Monday! Prom tickets sales begin Monday March 25th -April 23rd. Tickets are $60. Juniors and Seniors must purchase their tickets through OSP. QR codes are located throughout the building. Juniors and Seniors purchasing tickets for an underclassman guest or outside guest must purchase those tickets in person @ room 222,226,805 and 611. These tickets can be purchased before and after school or between class changes also if you are planning on bringing a outside guest you must complete a outside guest approval form. 3/20 Announcements: Come join MENA on Wednesday during Ramped Up B for Ramadan Activities. Ramadan is all about self discipline and kindness towards others. Share kindness with us Fridays during Ramped Up located outside the cafeteria. Ramadan, the month of fasting, began March 11 and will continue through April 11th. MENA student association is providing a space in room 222 for any students who will be fasting during this time. Look for Ramadan Fasting in Ramped Up to sign in. The application for Summer and Fall 2024 CCP with JCC closes in one week. You must have the online application completed. The other tasks toward your application packet may extend beyond March 27th. Need a prom dress but don't want to spend the money? Stop by and see your counselor for info to get your prom attire including dresses and suits.
3/19 Announcements: The lady rams women's soccer team won a double overtime thriller last night against Garner. Key goals made by Grace Keighley and Madelyn Schultz. The lady rams play @ South Garner on Wednesday.
3/15 Announcements: There will be Piano Club this coming Tuesday during Ramped Up A. We will discuss our plans moving forward. Please see Mr. Miller in room 508. All 9th ,10th,and 11th grade students should be sure to submit your course requests for next school year in Xello by Monday , March 18. This school year's class champion is Nate Evans -Delong who finished the tournament with a perfect 4-0 score. Chris Snuffer placed second with a score of 3 wins, 1 loss. The JV team defeated South Johnston in extra innings 4-3 yesterday. Trent Holmes had 2 hits, including the walk-off single in the 8th to win the game. Zach Miller also had 2 hits, Collin Blackmon and Mason Rodgers also drove in runs for the Rams. Drake Lee struck out 14 batters in 6 innings of pitching , and Colson Shipwash got the win with 2 strikeouts over 2 innings, the Rams play again on Tuesday @4 @ Fuquay.
