Hello Racer families this is Ms. Durko with some reminders… Tomorrow is our fun run. We are so excited for this event. Thank you so much for your support as we work to reach our goals. You can still make donations tonight and we hope to see lots and lots of parents and families supporting their kids tomorrow at the event. Due to exceptional growth 11 JCPS schools are no longer on the assisted targeted support and Improvement List
Good evening Racer families, this is Ms. Durko with some announcements and reminders. Our students are having a great time learning how to be leaders in our school and in their every day life with our Apex Fun Run Crew. The challenge for everyone tomorrow is to see which class can wear the most ORANGE and/or BLUE. Keep getting those pledges to help our school! Tomorrow is also Caps/PJ Bottoms for a Cause Day. For $1.00 students and staff can wear a hat and/or pj bottoms to school. All money collected will go to a Racer Family in need. Next Tuesday is a JCPS Teacher Workday, and there is no school for students. Parents, this is a reminder that our students are to walk to their classes independently each day. They have done a fantastic job with this, and they are showing great responsibility. If you need to meet with a teacher, please email or send a Rooms message to make an appointment. We will not be able to allow unannounced visitors to the classrooms as teachers are working hard delivering awesome instruction to their classes during the day and we don't want to cause any unnecessary interruptions. Thanks for your cooperation with this. We hope everyone has a good evening. Remember, once a Racer, always a Racer. Have a great night.

Good evening, River Dell Families, This is Ms. Durko calling to remind you of what is happening at school for the next week. We have the Apex team at school teaching our students how to become FUTURE LEADERS with lessons that show that we don’t have to wait until we’re grown up to change the world! Becoming a Future Leader starts now! Today we had our kick-off pep rally so look for your child to come home excited with an “Apex VIP Badge” (pledging information). Students will be asking for pledges to help support Online Learning Programs, Enhancement Replenishment/Support, Bike Racks, Murals, and Intermediate Playground Upgrades! Here’s how you can help: 1) Help your child ask 10 people for a pledge for the Apex event at our school. 2) Create a video of your child asking for pledges and email it to everyone you know or post it to your social media if you choose. 3) Ask your child about the Apex Future Lessons they are learning in class. They will come home with a habit bracelet each day as a reminder of what they learned. 4) Come to the Fun Run on Thursday, October 24th and cheer on your kids. Thanks so much, have a great night, and remember once a Racer, always a Racer!

JCPS continues to improve its school performance grades! 🌟 We are proud to announce that 89% of our schools received a school letter grade of A, B, or C according to recent data, surpassing the state average of 66%. This is a tremendous increase since 2018, when 65% of our schools were identified as the same. Through dedication and hard work, three schools moved from a letter grade of C to B, and four schools moved from D to C! 👏 #GreatThingsAreHappeningInJCPS

Thousands of supplies. Hundreds of donors. One common goal…helping those in their time of need. ❤ Today our Facility Services team gathered supplies from our schools, which were Hurricane Helene Relief donation sites. In a few hours, these supplies will be transported to Western North Carolina. Thank you to the many, many students, parents, and staff who have responded promptly and compassionately. Also, a special thanks to Johnston County Government and the Johnston County Sheriff's Office for allowing us to partner with you in this effort. 🤝

JCPS communities came together in an extraordinary way for our neighbors in Western North Carolina! 🌟 Donations from our schools for the Hurricane Helene Relief filled three dump trailers, three 3 box trucks, two pickup trucks, and two vans! This outpouring of kindness, compassion, and generosity is what our school system is built upon. We thank everyone involved in this effort! We continue to keep everyone affected by this devastating event in our hearts! ❤

Good evening parents, this is Ms. Durko with some reminders. We would like to first take this opportunity to thank all parents for ensuring that you are on campus for afternoon car pick up at or before 4:15. This has really helped. Thank you! We have received many calls and messages that families are not receiving the Connect Ed calls/emails this year. If this is happening to you, please send your name, your child's name, your email address, and your phone number to our Data Manager, Mrs. Kayla Williams. Her email is kaylawilliams@johnston.k12.nc.us. She can update your information in our system so that you will be able to receive these messages again. Lastly, we want to remind everyone that tomorrow is Picture Day! If you would like to purchase pictures of your child, you can send money tomorrow, or you can order online. We hope everyone has a nice evening. Remember, once a Racer, always a Racer. Have a good night!

As we provide critical assistance to our neighbors in Western North Carolina, here's a reminder of our district's partnership with Johnston County Government's Hurricane Helene Relief Effort. The region is in dire need of new, unused blankets. As you continue supporting the relief efforts, place these at the top of the list. Thank you!
